Usyncro one of the seven software companies worldwide that sign the agreement to include the eFBL Paperless Solution or Bill of Lading (BL) in FIATA digital format and with Blockchain validation.
Madrid – Geneva, May 25, 2022.- Usyncro is among the seven software companies worldwide that will integrate FIATA’s Paperless FBL solution. In fact, at the time the collaboration agreement was announced, Usyncro had already implemented the document that certifies the maritime shipment of a merchandise, on its platform .
FIATA, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations, announced on May 17, the launch of the Paperless eFBL solution, in order to reduce the processing of the BL document to 0 paper, whether managed through its TMS or through the seven software companies (among which is Usyncro) that have committed to integrate it into their platforms.
The eFBL digital proposal improves the level of security of the BL (Bill of Lading) compared to the paper version, introducing the use of Blockchain technology to authenticate the documents and facilitate their veracity before external parties. “Aware of the challenges to overcome to achieve global adoption and legal recognition of electronic data interchange, Paperless FBL is proposed in response to the needs of the sector to improve access and exchange of commercial documents”, FIATA sources pointed out in the launch statement, emphasizing its usefulness against fraud.
The eFBL proposed by FIATA has been developed by Komgo, and allows integration via API in the software providers that have signed the agreement, among which is Usyncro. In this way, Usyncro users have access to one more resource for managing their merchandise worldwide.
Blockchain technology allows each document to be recorded in an immutable and verifiable ledger at any time by interested parties. From the platform, they will have access to the documentation via PDF or by scanning the document’s QR code, to access the audit environment, which will certify the validity, the identity of its issuer and the integrity of its content.
“This is a big step both for Usyncro, for taking the lead in integrating eFBL into our platform, and for freight forwarders worldwide. With this addition to our Marketplace, we are proud to contribute to the resilience and digitization of the Supply Chain by using -and making available to many- disruptive technologies such as Blockchain”, commented Cristina Martín Lorenzo, CEO of Usyncro.
